Certified Nursing Assistant
Program Description: Healing Healthcare Training Institute offers a Nursing Assistant training course that includes both theoretical and practical components. Students will gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting, preparing them for the CNA certification exam.
Course Objective
The overall objective of this Nurse Aide Training Program is the provision of quality services to residents in long-term care facilities by nurse aides who are able to:
- Describe the functions of body systems appropriate to the nursing assistant's scope of practice.
- Describe nursing assistants' roles and responsibilities, including ethics, communication, legal obligations, abuse laws, and Michigan State Board of Nursing regulations.
- Demonstrate professional communication skills, including recording, reporting, and legal and ethical responsibilities.
- Give students the idea of healthcare field occupied by nursing assistants.
- Introduce basic competencies that are required to obtain the license.


CPT Phlebotomy
Certified Phlebotomy Technician prepares a student with education, training, and experience to perform skin punctures or venipunctures in a hospital, clinical lab, or Doctors office. A minimum of 40 hours of didactic and 20 hours clinical instruction will be presented. U.S. requirements, High School diploma or GED, non-U.S. transcript analysis, 2-year college basic education courses (science, English, math, social science in the absence of HS equivalent.)
Course Objectives
•List and describe the Phlebotomist's duties and the traits from the professional image.
• Identify, demonstrate, and employ the basic skills of good communication, interpersonal relations, stress management, professional and ethical behavior within the classroom and clinical settings.
• Define, analyze , and describe medical law, ethics, legal terminology, and legal issues related to blood collection.
• Identify, describe, and discuss pathogenic organisms, blood borne pathogens, disease transmission, biohazard precautions, basic infection control and advanced infection control factors. Additionally, identify, demonstrate and employ the proper skills related to the enforcement of standard precautions, safety and disposal of biohazard wastes; e.g. sharps, needles, and dressings.
• Identify and describe the Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology of the major body systems with emphasis on the cardiovascular system. List several pathologic disorders, diagnostic tests, specimen collection, transportation, processing and storage techniques, related to those body systems.


EKG Training Program
Upon completion of this program, students wishing to sit for the Certified EKG Technician exam will be required to complete a minimum of 10 EKGs on a live person. Healing Healthcare Training Institute will assist students in searching for these Experiential Learning opportunities. Upon completion of the EKG Tech program, we will work with students to find a site to assist in completing the hands-on requirements to become certified.
- • Discuss, demonstrate and identify (utilizing a mannequin), the proper identification of the patient and specimen, the anatomical site, the disinfectant, the appropriate tubes and equipment, laboratory requisitions, patient preparation, safety, order of draw, additives, risk factors, and appropriate response to complications which may arise from the Phlebotomy including post puncture care and special precautions.
- • Identify and demonstrate the assembly of the equipment, and the stepped procedures related to skin puncture and venipuncture techniques. Successfully obtain l 0 venipunctures and 10 skin punctures prior to entering the clinical setting.
- • Identify and discuss the anti-coagulation theory, pre-analytical sources of error in specimen collection, transport, processing and storage and quality assurance appropriate corrective actions to deal with problems in test requisitions, specimen transport and processing.
- Within a Hospital Clinical setting, identify and demonstrate the assembly of the equipment and the equipment and the stepped procedures related to skin puncture and venipuncture. Successfully obtain 50 venipunctures and 10 skin punctures on patients of various ages and clinical diagnosis.


Medical Assistant Program
The Medical Assistant certification program at Healing Healthcare Training Institute, provides students with the comprehensive classroom education and hands-on experience necessary for gaining the skills and confidence needed to become a valuable member of the healthcare team. Students enrolled in this program will receive training in human anatomy, medical terminology, insurance procedures, pharmacology, and more.
Training in this Program Includes
Comprehensive training in both administrative and clinical areas
Clinical training that takes place on-campus in Dorsey College medical labs
An externship with a physician’s office, or other medical facility prior to graduating
Upon completion of this program, graduates will be eligible to sit for a certification exam.


Patient Care Technician Program
The Patient Care Technician diploma program Healing Healthcare training Institute, provides comprehensive classroom education and practical hands-on experience that are earned in the supervised clinical hours of the program’s externship component.
Students enrolled in this program will receive thorough training in the skills required of a patient care technician, which include electrocardiograms (ECG), phlebotomy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Training in this Program Includes:
The opportunity to develop the skills necessary for providing quality patient care in a variety of medical settings.
Training in infection control, pharmacology, and procedures for administering medications.
Exposure to the structures of the body, common diseases, treatments, and laboratory tests and coverage of medical terminology.


IV Technician Course & Certification
IV stands for intravenous venipuncture; this is the process of inserting a needle and catheter into a vein in the arm. IVs are used to infuse medications and provide hydration. IV technicians can work almost anywhere, from clinics and medical spas to hospitals and labs. If you are interested in getting into healthcare without spending years in school, this course may be the perfect fit for you.
The IV course curriculum includes principles of proper venipuncture technique, proper IV technique, basic principles of intravenous insertion and flushing, and techniques of intravenous line establishment. Students will receive an IV venipuncture simulation kit to practice and perform their skills in IV insertion.
Upon course completion, students will need to pass the online certification exam to receive their IV Technician Certification. Our classes offer national accrediting exams which allow students to work anywhere in the U.S.
An IV technician’s main role is to administer medications and fluids through an IV. They are responsible for:
Preparing and administering medications and fluids according to a physician’s orders and standard protocols.
Monitoring patients for adverse reactions and taking appropriate action if necessary.
Maintaining accurate records of IV treatments and patient information.
Maintaining and sterilizing equipment to ensure proper function and safety.
Providing patient education on IV therapy and answering any questions they may have.
Communicating with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and physicians, to ensure continuity of care.
Reviewing and interpreting the physician’s orders and preparing the medication accordingly.
Administering blood products and other specialized infusions as per the physician’s orders.
Performing venipuncture and peripheral IV cannulation.
Maintaining a safe environment for patients during IV therapy.
IV technicians work under the supervision of a registered nurse or other healthcare professional and may also provide support to other members of the healthcare team.
